CATHEDRAL PARK Cohousing - POrtland’s newest cohousing community

A multigenerational community built on belonging, compassion, and curiosity – and a fun bunch to boot! Our urban community will be located on a half acre of gently-sloping hillside property that is community owned. We have committed membership and an experienced professional development team with a successful cohousing track record. Set to start construction in 2023, we currently have homes available, and are quickly expanding our membership.

All of our condo homes are universally designed (no stairs!). They will have full kitchens, laundry hookups, and share ample common- space amenities. The design of our homes fosters easy community connections, while at the same time providing privacy for families and individuals.

The community will be located near the base of the iconic St. Johns Bridge in the Cathedral Park neighborhood of Portland, Oregon -- one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city. Just minutes from the center of downtown, Cathedral Park Cohousing will be near public transportation and walkable to many amenities, including beautiful Cathedral Park, as well as restaurants, shops, and services located along the Lombard-Street Retail Corridor.

CURRENT STATUS

We are working with Cathedral Park Cohousing members to refine the community’s proposed development budget and ensure that community and unit designs are aligned with cost targets. Additionally, current members are focused on membership outreach and recruitment efforts.

With an estimated completion date in 2024, the project will comprise 31 universally-designed condominium homes and generous indoor and outdoor amenity spaces. Community features will include a landscaped courtyard, a large kitchen, ample gathering space, at least one fully-accessible ADA unit, and multiple subsidized units for qualifying individuals.
